Florida Trend, a monthly magazine and website that offers regionally based stories and reporting about business, industry, education and leisure, featured St. Lucie County, Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce and St. Lucie Village in its March edition.
The issue focuses on St. Lucie County as “a hotspot for research, real estate, manufacturing and health care — all buoyed by workforce development efforts and partners in education.”
It highlights Port St. Lucie’s evolution as a hub for strategic development and advances in innovation and research, with sections about Southern Grove, Florida International University, Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies and the Florida Research and Innovation Center.
“It’s a very vibrant community with lots happening,” City Manager Blackburn says in the article. “We’ve worked hard to streamline the building process to make it easier for folks to come here, and recently lowered commercial building permit fees as well.”
The City’s Neighborhood Improvement and Community Engagement program is also mentioned and how it enriches neighborhood character and “gives residents a greater sense of pride,” according to Blackburn.
